Presents and Austin

So when there's a little lull at work, I check my wedding registry. It feels so shameless, but I get so excited when I see that something has been purchased! Today, I noticed that it was some of our glasses and linens. Last week, my aunt so generously purchased one of my "must have" items-- the espresso machine. I can't wait to use it! Ayeeee!

I went through my first real Texas storm this weekend. I woke up in the middle of the night due to thunder, lightning, and hail. That was intense. And all the while, San Jose was bright and shining with 80+ degree weather. HA! Either way, I always like going out to Austin to visit my dear friends. And I like Austin in general; I like it enough that I would move there. Don't get me wrong-- I love the Bay Area. It's my hometown after all. But Austin has my some of my best friends, great food, and a better standard of living. A house their size would easily cost $800,000+ here. There it wouldn't even be half that price. So we could have the lifestyle we want and I could work where I really want to and not worry about salary as much. (READ: I could work for a non-profit at $15 an hour and be satisfied.) Or I could be a housewife!

Kylie is just adorable. No other way to describe her. Just adorable.

Restaurant.com

I love, love, love Restaurant.com. If you like to eat out, you'll love it too. And right now they have a code for 70% off their normal pricing. Yowza! Man, the way I'm promoting them maybe I should just go work for them!

The First...

Ahhh... The first post, like fresh fallen snow. Okay, sometimes I'm just too cheezy.

I'm packing up tonight to head to... Austin, TX! Woo! It will be my first visit to see Kylie. I think I need a weekend away too. I've been too busy lately. I don't think I've been home to just veg in almost two weeks. There's just always something going on-- dinners, birthdays, errands... Paul says I keep our social calendar too busy. I guess I do need to slow it down a little. Thankfully I don't see much on my calendar for next week other than a work dinner.

The wedding is keeping my pretty busy too. I'm staying sane for the most part, but there are smaller details I need to finish up. I finally decided on a location for my bachelorette party at least. I was so indecisive about that one. (Sorry Heather!)

Congrats to Mark and Susan. Woo! Babies are so nice. :) I want one. Later.
